Björklund, Mattias

Mattias Björklund is a researcher and teacher at Stockholm University, Sweden. His primary research interests lie in the field of teaching and learning in social studies, with a special focus on the realization of economics and financial literacy in the classroom. Mattias has a background as a high school teacher and is actively involved in Stockholm Teaching and Learning Studies [STLS], which serves as a collaborative space where researchers and teachers collaborate on research endeavors.

Description

Global educational initiatives along with many national curricula have implemented financial literacy education as a subject with self-evident aims and content features. However, when scrutinized by educational scholars, financial literacy teaching and learning unveil numerous challenges not least concerning desirable learning outcomes. This presentation aims to discuss some of these issues.
